Ladies
And Gentlemen, January-10-2003
In the last couple of years we have suffered some severe tragedies. I am
of course referring to 9-11
and the Beltway Sniper Case among others. There is also another severe
tragedy that no one is talking about, that being the disease of FIBROMUSCULAR
DYSPLASIA.
I know because I am a victim of this disease. I have been told that there
is no cure. I have also been told there are no present research programs
on this disease. WHY IS THERE NO RESEARCH
FOR A DISEASE THAT CAUSES ALL THIS PAIN AND SUFFERING AND YES, DEATH?
No funds you say, not enough money. Referring back to the sniper case,
I think at the time there were 13 victims, every major news channel had
24/7 coverage, FOX, CNN,
and MSNBC among others. The
word was, this must be stopped before one (!) more person dies, regardless
of cost or expense. There was even a $250,000 reward offered. Every available
law enforcement agency was sent to help, FBI, ATF,
state and local people working around the clock. Went and dug up tree stump
and flew across the country for examination. Also flew special planes over
the area hoping to see muzzle flash. Now I want to say, I think that this
was the right thing to do and it should have been done. I am glad to see
people trying to stop anything so tragic. Now what I don’t understand is
how people can stand by and see this disease causing all this pain suffering
and death and not do anything about it. Being a victim and disabled, I
do watch a lot of TV. I have to say that I have not heard the word FIBROMUSCULAR
DYSPLASIA or anything close to it. Going
back to the sniper case, there was a 13-year-old
child who
was a victim. Thank God he survived and is now trying to get back to as
close to normal life as possible. Now when this child became a victim it
shocked the nation. How dirty and lowdown could these people be to pick
on a child? Even sent a note telling people that their children would not
be safe. Well you guessed it, this disease FMD
is
even more lowdown and dirty. One of the children was diagnosed as having
FMD at 18
months old,
he is approximately 13 years of
age now I
think, but what has he went through in the last 11 years? There is also
a 6-year-old young lady suffering
from FMD at this time. What
does she have to look forward to? How many out there that I am not aware
of, young or old? How
many out there with this disease that have not been diagnosed? Believe
me, the numbers would be staggering. I will
go so far as to say that this disease has probably killed as many people
over the years as did 9-11.
A lot of you are asking, why did he write this, what does he want? Well
I can answer that for you. First I would like to have the exact same response
to FMD as was given the sniper
case. This must be stopped before one (1) more person dies, regardless
of cost or expense. I would like for all government, state, local research
facilities to fight as hard and long as did the law enforcement people
to find cause and cure for this silent killer. I also think that every
major news network FOX, CNN, MSNBC,
others as well as newspapers give the disease Fibromuscular Dysplasia,
not equal time but a reasonable amount of time to educate the public about
this disease, and ask for any assistance that they can give. These news
organizations have the resources for this kind of thing. People working
together stopped the snipers. Now lets work together to stop Fibromuscular
Dysplasia.
Thankyou,
Robert J.
